This month's bulletins ....

Sertoma Bulletin January 2008

It's a great start ...

The New Year is just under way, and KU's  football team and coach Mark Mangino have just proven their mettle by winning the Orange Bowl. Under Bill Self's leadership our basketball team is undefeated in the current year. As Lawrence Sertomans we can take pride in these accomplishments and perhaps gain inspiration to make this a banner year for Sertoma. We have our membership banquet coming up next month, and that gives each of us an opportunity to share the value of this great organization with potential members. Under Dee Bisel's direction we will have our tenth annual BBQ this Spring, and we can all resolved to help her take this event to new level in money raised to help our community. It's all about teamwork, desire and dedication. Let's us be part of the Sertoma team in 2008 and have a great time while we do.

Sertoma Foundation ...
We still want to encourage all our member to individually join the Sertoma Foundation.  Just write a separate check for $25 made out to the Sertoma Foundation, and send it to Rob Gillespie along with your regular dues. The Foundation has been a supporter of the KU Speech and Hearing Clinic as well as our Summer Communication camp. There's no better place to invest your dollars.

Awards Committee ...
Sandra Studley is seeking volunteers to serve on the Awards Committee. This group meets once or twice starting in January to
plan the annual Service to Mankind Awards Banquet, and to select the recipient. If you would like to help, please call Sandra at 865-1026 or email sstudley@douglascountybank.com. If you would like to nominate someone from the community to receive the award, contact Sandra with that information as well.
