Lawrence Sertoma

The Sertoma 48 BBQ Contest is our fund
raising project. All the dollars raised go
back into the Lawrence and Douglas County
community. TheCommunication Camp is
our primary recipient and the reason we
work so hard to make this event a success.

This summer Communication Camp offers children
with communication disorders a chance to explore
their world, improve their communication skills, and
make friends while participating in camp activities.
The camp is a collaborative effort between the
Lawrence Sertoma Club and the Schiefelbusch
Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at KU.

The Lawrence Sertoma Club
meets the first Tuesday of every month

Join us at our regular lunch meeting held at 12:00
noon at the Lawrence Country Club, 400 Country
Club Terrace.

Board of Directors Meetings
The third Monday of each month

Meetings are held at the Central National Bank
facility at 3140 Nieder Road (near the Target store).
Bring your lunch and join us at noon. All memebers
are welcome.

12th Annual 48 BBQ Cookoff
May 7 & 8, 2010

Put this on your calendar. It's going to be two days
of fun and BBQ at Broken Arrow Park. Join us as we
raise the money that supports our camp and other
community projects.

Sertoma is an international service organization with its main focus in the area
of communicative disorders. The word Sertoma is an acronym formed from the
phrase SERvice TO MAnkind.

The Lawrence Sertoma Club has been in existence since 1929, and all funds
raised by the club's various activities are returned to the community. A long
standing relationship with the Kansas University Speech and Hearing
Department forms the core of our sponsorship. Other projects include donating
the Watson Park gazebo, providing flag poles at City Hall, Holcom Park
Recreation Center, YSI ball fields, Vistor's Center, and the Aquatic Center.

The Lawrence Sertoma Club has supported the Lawrence and Douglas County
community for eighty years.
